COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In his latest report to the Coldwater City Council, City Manager Jeff Budd notes the upcoming retirement of a pair of longtime city employees who have combined for nearly 70 years of service to the city.
Executive Secretary Joan Sherman will be retiring at the end of December after 40-1/2 years of service to five different City Managers. She came to work for the city straight out of high school in June 1976, and according to Budd, has “been involved in every aspect of the City over this time, leaving an indelible mark in Coldwater’s past, present and future history.”
Mark Miller will be stepping away from the Police Department on January 20, after 29-1/2 years serving Coldwater as a Patrol Officer and a Corporal. He joined the force in July 1987 after brief stints with the Union City and Quincy Police Departments. A notable career highlight was serving as a law enforcement officer for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
