COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Board of Education member Nick Krzeminski was re-elected on Tuesday while another board member lost by a narrow margin as Steve Rutz edged out Dr. Ron Lanford by 14 votes.
Lanford was appointed to the board in July 2015 to replace Robin Iveson. He was also appointed to the board in August 2013 to complete the term of Rick Gates but later lost in the November election.
Rutz applied for the seat vacated by Iveson 16 months ago.
There were contested school board races throughout Branch County Tuesday.
The winners were Janet Byler and Brian Eley in Bronson, Jennifer Wortz and Thomas Bean in Quincy along Jennifer Searls and Sam Korn in Union City.
