UNDATED, MI (WTVB) – Butler, Coldwater, Sherwood and Matteson Townships are the only townships in Branch County that will have contested races on Tuesday.
The Supervisors race in Butler Township pits Republican Gary Smith against Democratic incumbent Reggie Ivey. Three candidates are running for two seats for trustee. They are Republicans Christopher Brenner and Janis Olney along with Democrat Eileen VanVleet.
There is also a Supervisors race in Matteson Township where Republican challenger David Johnson is running against Democrat incumbent Dennis Schumacher. A contested race for Matteson Township Treasurer has Republican Robin Elizabeth Perry-Brabon facing Democrat Julie Fair-Outlaw.
In Sherwood Township, Republican James Smith is running against independent candidate Donald Souva for Supervisor.
In Coldwater Township, Republican incumbents Mary Daniels and Wayne Kellogg and independent candidate Skip Uldricks are running for trustee seats.
Voters in Michigan’s 7th Congressional District will decide today if Republican Congressman Tim Walberg should be re-elected. He is facing a stiff challenge from Democratic State Representative Gretchen Driskell.
Republican 58th District State Representative Eric Leutheuser is running for re-election against Democratic challenger Mary Hamaty.
