COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Kinderhook Township man entered a guilty plea to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after he was accused of threatening his mother with a large kitchen knife over the Labor Day weekend.
22-year-old Colin Shoemaker entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors who will drop a strangulation charge in exchange for the guilty plea.
Shoemaker admitted in court he became upset when he was woke up on September 4th after working a third shift. Michigan State Police investigated the alleged incident at a home on Stokes Road.
Sentencing has been scheduled for December 12th.
