BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Funeral services are set for next week for a Bronson man and his mother, who were killed in a fiery crash on I-94 in Jackson County earlier this week. 58-year-old Duane Ferry and 80-year-old Beverly Ferry were westbound on I-94 between Dearing and Parma Roads Tuesday, November 1 around 11:00 a.m. when their car was struck from behind by a semitrailer.
The semitrailer’s fuel tank was ruptured in the crash and it ignited, engulfing the truck and the Ferry’s car in flames. Michigan State Police say the truck driver from Ontario, Canada rear ended the car, which was slowing for an unrelated crash of several semitrailers further west down the freeway.
A memorial service for Duane Ferry, who had been a custodian for Bronson Community Schools since 2002, will be held Friday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bronson Junior/Senior High School Gymnasium.
The funeral service for Beverly Ferry of Coldwater will be held Wednesday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Quincy.
