COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Commissioners voted to move forward to next Tuesday’s meeting a tentative proposal reached with Hillsdale County which would help pay for the new animal control building next to the Branch County Jail.
County Administrator Bud Norman said it was for 10 years and that Hillsdale County would pay a total of $200,000 at $40,000 a year increments for the first five years.’
The money from Hillsdale County would be used for capitalization of the building
Norman said the Hillsdale County Commissioners are scheduled to act on the agreement Monday. If approved then Branch County Commissioners are scheduled to consider it the following day.
In other business, Norman said they got one Request for Proposal for work on the roof of the county jail but the company was not responsive when the county sought quotes. He said the improved economy is making it difficult to get R.F.P.’s for work.
Commissioners also decided to being forward to the Tuesdaymeeting two percent pay increases for non-union management and employees that would be effective on January 1st.
