HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Six persons including five juveniles were injured Tuesday morning in Hillsdale County when their vehicle crashed into a Republic Services trash hauler near the Camden-Frontier Schools.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 7:45 a.m. on West Montgomery Road between Gilmore and South Edon Roads.
Deputies determined that a 2004 Cadillac Escalade which was driven by 25-year-old Bradley James Lemley was heading east on West Montgomery when it crashed into the trash hauler which had stopped on the road to pick up trash.
The Lemley vehicle was occupied by five juveniles. Lemley and all of the juvenile passengers were taken to Hillsdale Hospital by the Reading Emergency Unit and the Montgomery Fire Department for injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the trash hauler was not injured.
The investigation into the crash led to the shut down of a portion of West Montgomery Road for several hours.
Deputies were assisted by firefighters from Camden and Montgomery as well as the Reading Emergency Unit.
The Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the crash.
