COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A proposed restructuring of personnel in the juvenile unit of Probate Court was presented to the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session last Thursday.
Probate Court Referee Wendy Gensch said they wanted to fill two openings with current employees.
She is proposing Kevin Allman become the Senior Caseworker/Program Manager. The position has been unfilled since Mark Katz left court employment in 2016. Allman has been with employed with the Juvenile Unit since 2004.
It’s also being proposed that Dalyn Cummings become the Juvenile Register/Grant Administrator. Cummings has been with the Juvenile Unit since 2009.
The Juvenile Unit was awarded over $67,000 in various grants in 2021-22 and are in line to get over $308,000 in grants for 2022-2023. Gensch says these endeavors require a lot of record-keeping and reporting.
Gensch also reported the Branch County Family Treatment Court became operational in 2021.
County Administrator Bud Norman said some questions have to be answered about the requests.
Commissioners Jon Houtz and Tom Mathew will look into the requests further and report back before any action is taken by Commissioners.
