BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Cascades Conference schools have a 4-2 edge so far in this year’s edition of the Big 8/Cascades crossover football games, including wins over Quincy and Bronson.
At Quincy, Hanover-Horton shut out the Orioles 21-0. Tre’Von Bodley had 144 yards rushing on 27 carries along with a 12-yard reception, Ryder Schmachtenberger had a 32-yard reception, and Blaine Pish had 11 tackles, a sack, and two tackles for loss to pace the defense. Quincy finished the season with a 2-7 record.
Bronson also dropped to 2-7 as they lost to Michigan Center 55-19 at Charles Hilton Field.

Union City (7-1) will host Napoleon (8-0) Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Alumni Field in a battle of conference champions.
In 8-player football, Colon closed out an undefeated regular season as they beat visiting Tekonsha 60-13. Magi wide receiver Justin Wickey set a pair of 8-player football state records for most touchdown receptions in a season (31) and a career (55) as he finished with 10 catches for 138 yards and 5 scores. Tekonsha’s Wyatt Blashfield had 18 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown; he was also 5/17 passing for 103 yards and a score, with Kyle Redd finishing with 2 catches for 60 yards and a TD. The Indians finished the regular season at 7-2 and will find out their playoff assignment Sunday night.
