QUINCY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Jonesville woman was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Thursday morning following a four vehicle crash on U.S. 12 at Briggs Road.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 7:05 a.m..
They say their investigation shows that a passenger car driven by Sherry Morgan was stopped waiting for a semi to turn into a business.
A second passenger car, driven by Michael Coulter of Osseo, Michigan was stopped behind the Morgan vehicle.
A pickup truck driven by Cole Pish then struck the Coulter vehicle in the rear causing a chain reaction sending the Morgan vehicle left of center and into the side of an east bound semi-truck trailer.
The Sheriff’s Department says all of the occupants were using safety restraints and that airbags minimized the injuries to Morgan.
Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by Quincy Fire Rescue, Life Care Ambulance, workers from both businesses at the intersection of US.12 and Briggs Rd. and local wrecker services that worked quickly to clear the road to get the backed-up morning traffic moving.
