NORTH WEBSTER, IN (WTVB) – The National Weather Service says heavy snow is possible in parts of southwest Michigan over the next couple of days and Winter Storm Warnings have been posted.
Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning for 48 hours starting at 7 am Thursday morning.
Heavy snow is expected with a total snow accumulation of 6 to 12 inches being forecast in Kent, Ionia, Barry, Eaton, Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties.
Forecasters say travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
Further west, total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches are expected in Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren counties through Saturday morning.
Cass and Berrien Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning until 10:00 a.m. Thursday for up to ten inches of lake effect snow.
