BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – It looks like Branch County is going to miss getting heavy snow from the first major winter storm of the season to hit southwest Michigan.
Schools were closed throughout west Michigan on Friday due to the lake effect snow storm that has made for dangerous driving conditions.
Calhoun and Kalamazoo Counties remain under a Winter Storm Warning until 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning as forecasts are calling for six to 12 inches of snow in some areas.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for St. Joseph County until 7:00 p.m. on Friday night for additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches and wind gusts as high as 35 mph.
As of mid morning on Friday, no weather advisories or warnings have been issued for Branch County.
