MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – A shorthanded Coldwater Varsity Boys Swim and Dive team took part in the Marshall Invite on Saturday.
With a third of the boys staying home due to illness, the Cardinals still were able to come home in fifth place, 21 points ahead of Marshall in sixth and just 2 points behind Battle Creek Central for fourth place.
Every Coldwater Boy scored points for the team in the meet.
Sam Pernia started the day on the podium with a fourth place finish in diving.
Cooper Otto made the podium in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke finishing fourth in both.
Lucas Wischmeyer finished fifth in the 50 Freestyle and Taylor Eberts made the podium with a fifth place finish in the 500 Freestyle.
The Cardinals host a rematch with Battle Creek Central on Thursday at the Browne Aquatic Center.
