HAMILTON, IN (WTVB) – Seven persons including five children were injured Friday in a crash at the intersection of Railroad Street and Homestead Drive in Hamilton, Indiana.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at around 6:30 p.m.. According to a news release, deputies say a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck approached the intersection from the east. The other vehicle, a 2017 Kia Sedona minivan, was heading west.
They report the Ford F-150, driven by 34 year old Joshua Anderson of Hamilton, was “almost completely left of the center line” at the intersection as he was trying to make a left-hand turn which caused the pickup truck and minivan to “collide nearly head on.”
The driver of the minivan, 39-year-old Bianca Hales of Hamilton, had severe injuries. Four children between the ages of five and 17 who were passengers in the minivan suffered injuries ranging from back pain to the possibility of broken legs. The occupants of the Hales minivan and Anderson were transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. A 7-year-old passenger in Anderson’s pickup truck was treated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
