COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two women from the community are honored every year during the Branch County United Way’s Power of the Purse event for their service and community involvement.
The honorees this year are Angie Marsh from Southern Marsh Realty who was selected as the Woman of the Year in Business and Marilyn Ostrander who was named the Woman of the Year in Service.
They will be honored at the luncheon portion of the ninth annual event on March 4.
The Power of the Purse was born to raise awareness and funds to support the Branch County United Way effort to supply free books to area children from birth to age five through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Funds from this event go to cover the complete cost every years to provide these free books to kids no matter their family income.
All additional funds raised goes towards assisting the 27 agencies supported by the Branch County United Way which assist with education, income and health in our area communities.
All funds stay local.
