BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles defeated the Union City Chargers 47-46 on Tuesday night in a Big 8 Conference game that featured a wild finish.
With Quincy leading 47-45, Union City had to go full-court with two seconds remaining on the clock.
The Chargers inbounded the ball and Quincy fouled as they had two fouls to give.
But the officials ruled the Union City player was in the act of shooting while being fouled which sent him to the line with no time on the clock and three foul shots.
He missed the first, made the second, and missed the third, allowing Quincy to hang on for the victory.
Sam Sawyer led Quincy with 18 points while Ashtyn Morris had 15 points, seven rebounds and seven blocked shots.
Landon Galvin led the Chargers with 15 points while Jeremy Zehr added 10 points.

Bronson scored the final nine points during the final two minutes of the game as they defeated Jonesville 56-46 on the Vikings home court.
Aden Hathaway led Bronson with 21 points which included 16 in the second half. Kam Brackett added 18 points.
