COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While construction continues in the adjacemt parking lot, South Hanchett Street in front of the Tibbits Opera House will soon be open.
Concrete for the new street was poured last week. The street will be opened once the cement is fully cured. That could be as early as later this week.
The parking lot construction should be completed by September 1.
The final concrete for new tennis courts at Coldwater’s Heritage Park was also poured last week. Crews have been using sprinklers, keeping the surface wet to slow down the curing process for the upper layer of concrete to allow the lower level to cure at the same rate. The project, expected to cost around $900,000, is being funded primarily by community donations.
It’s hoped the courts can be finished for the start of the Coldwater High School boys tennis season in August.
