CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Chicago teenager drowned Sunday afternoon in Hillsdale County’s Bankers Lake.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says 16-year-old Christian Morales was on a pontoon boat with friends when he jumped into the water at about 3:20 p.m. He was unable to get back to the boat safely and subsequently drowned.
The body was recovered by the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team about four hours later.
The Branch County Dive Team were among the many agencies which provided assistance.
