COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Traffic patterns and student safety concerns are being addressed with work underway this summer at Max Larsen and Jefferson elementaries in the Coldwater school district. Two classrooms are being added at Jefferson Elementary, as well as a more secure front entrance to the building. The driveway along Vans Avenue will also be reworked to allow a better traffic flow for parents picking up their students after school.
There is also extensive parking lot and driveway work at Max Larsen Elementary to further separate the bus and car traffic around the school.
In addition to the work at the two elementary buildings, electrical and mechanical work is underway at Legg Middle School.
At Coldwater High School’s Cardinal Field, construction of a new press box has begun. The timeline calls for the press box to be completed by the start of the 2016 football season this fall, although school board members last week expressed their displeasure at word from the contractor that it might not be completed in time.
