COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Planning and Zoning Director Dean Walrack told the city’s Planning Commission on Monday night that a new Planning Director has been hired.
He did not identify the new hire but said they will be attending next month’s Planning Commission meeting.
City Manager Keith Baker announced in October that Walrack had accepted the position of GIS Specialist.
Walrack became the City Planning and Zoning Director in 2017 after Baker was named the City Manager.
Walrack made his announcement as he presented a report on the 2022 activities for the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Downtown Historic District Commission as they relate to the city’s planning efforts.
The Neighborhood Services Department pursued over 1,200 code enforcement issues last year.
The report also listed the goals and vision from the City’s 2017 master plan, the goals and objectives of the City’s 2019 recreation plan, and the goals and objectives of the City’s downtown development authority plan and along with zoning maps.
In other business on Monday, the Planning Commission elected officers for the next year and decided to keep Aaron Garn as its chair. Chris Stevens was named the vice chair.
They also decided to keep meeting on the first Monday of the month with a pair of modifications in 2024.
