COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The value of Branch County is on the rise again.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners accepted the county Equalization Department’s annual report for 2015 on Tuesday. Commissioner Jon Houtz pointed out Branch County’s equalization value has returned to where it was at the time the Great Recession hit in 2008.
The value went down every year between 2008 and 2012 but has gone up every year since then.
The Equalization Department is responsible for determining true cash values of property every year. The values are determined by conducting sales or appraisal studies.
