BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson will see its fair share of construction projects this summer.
Beginning on June 13th, sections of the water main will be upgraded from four to eight inches on Rudd and West Corey between Walker and Matteson Streets as well as on Matteson between Rudd and Grant.
City officials say the water main upgrade will improve water flow and help fire protection.
All sidewalk ramps at street intersections along Matteson will be upgraded to meet ADA standards as part of a MDOT Local Agency Project.
According to the city’s web site, once the underground work is done, Matteson Street will be milled and resurfaced in its entirety from Mill Street south to near First Street.
The work is scheduled to begin around July 25th after the annual Polish Festival.
Officials say the Matteson Street work is fully funded by state and federal grants.
The city will be responsible for all of the Matteson Street engineering as well as the project costs for the water main improvements.
