COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball, Coldwater defeated Trenton 6-4 in ten innings, beat Flat Rock 13-6 but lost to Woodhaven 5-4 at the Trenton Invitational on Saturday. Kameron Miller had four hits and three RBI’s in the win over Flat Rock while Austin Krzeminski had three hits and three RBI’s and Brayton Rzepka had three hits. Sean Printke was the winning pitcher. Woodhaven scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat the Cardinals after Coldwater scored three in the top of the seventh to take a 4-1 lead. Krzeminski collected three hits against Woodhaven. The Cardinals are now 17-3.
Bronson lost to Michigan Center 3-2 but came back to defeat Addison 14-4 at the Leslie Invitational. Bryce Withington homered against Michigan Center. Coty Bennett was the winning pitcher against Addison and also hit a home run. Ethan Cossairt drove in the three runs in the Addison game while Brett Sikorski went four-for-four. The Vikings are now 17-4.

Coldwater won the Leslie Invitational by defeating Onsted 11-1 and Charlotte 8-1. Darlene Horn was the winning pitcher in the opener and had three hits at the plate. Tyler Scheid was the winning pitcher in the finals against Charlotte while Kendall Galloway and Jamie Wellet both had three hits. The Cardinals are now 19-4 overall.
Quincy lost to Adrian Madison 13-5 and defeated Stockbridge 14-10 in the Quincy All Sports Festival on Saturday. Jayden Haller and Meghan Parshall both had two hits against Adrian Madison while Hannah Econonmou tripled and drove in two runs. Haller homered and drove in three runs against Stockbridge. Quincy’s record is now 15-7.
Bronson went 2-2 at the Northview Invitational. They defeated Lowell 8-4 and Jenison 4-3 but lost to Unity Christian 4-3 and to Northview 6-3. Allie Sikorski and Adyson Lasky were the winning pitchers. Lasky and Kelsey Robinson both had three hits in the win over Jenison. The Vikings collected 12 hits in the victory over Lowell with nine players getting at least one hit.

Quincy won the girls meet while Hillsdale captured the boys meet title on Saturday at the Quincy Invitational. The Quincy girls had 187 ½ points followed by Pittsford with 136, Bronson with 85 ½ and Union City with 63. Gaby Porter of Quincy won the 800 and the 1600 while Katie Spaulding won the 100 hurdles, Claire Supianoski won the 400 and Jessica Holcomb won the 200. Quincy won all four relay races. Bronson’s Alyssa Hagen won the 1600.
In the boys meet, Hillsdale finished first with 183 ½ points followed by Quincy with 161½, Pittsford with 96, Union City with 89 and Bronson with 47. Jonathan Purvis of Quincy won the discus while teammate Brandon Gary won the 3200. Union City won the 1600, 800 and 400 relays
—GIRLS SOCCER—
The Coldwater girls varsity soccer team came up just short of defending its title at the Hanover Horton Invitational Saturday, falling to Division One Ann Arbor Huron 4-3 in an overtime shootout in the tournament title game. The Lady Cardinals tied the game at 3-3 with no time left in regulation as Madison Marsh scored off a long throw-in from Malorie Rzepka.
Breanna Eddy and Rzepka scored earlier in the game, while Samantha Rodesiler had one assist. Nadia Kiersey made 7 saves in goal. In the overtime shootout, the outcome wasn’t decided until the 9th kickers, with Ann Arbor Huron out scoring Coldwater 7-6.
In the semi finals, Coldwater beat Springport 3-1. Malorie Rzepka had two goals, with one from Megan Hoath. Samantha Rodesiler and Maggie Pool each had an assist, and Nadia Kiersey made one save as Coldwater outshot Springport 26-2.
The Lady Cardinals record is now 6-2-4 on the season. They play at Harper Creek in Interstate 8 action Monday night, then host Jackson Lumen Christi Wednesday.
