BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals girls soccer team scored a pair of second half goals as they came from behind on Monday night to defeat the Pennfield Panthers 3-2 on the Panthers home pitch.
The victory allowed the Cardinals to get above the .500 mark for the season.
Pennfield scored first but Coldwater equalized shortly after to tie the match at 1-1.
The Panthers went back on top 2-1 before halftime as the wet weather made handling the ball difficult.
Coldwater adjusted well and put up two goals in the second half to get the win.
Katie O’Dell scored twice for Coldwater and had an assist. Cara Miller had a goal and an assist.
Cardinal goaltender Izzie Pool made 12 saves.
Coldwater is now 5-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the Interstate 8 Conference.
