HANOVER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater came back from Spring Break on Monday with a doubleheader sweep at Hanover-Horton, winning by scores of 8-4 and 6-3.
The Cardinals will take a 4-0 record into their doubleheader at Marshall on Thursday.
Winning pitchers Darlene Horn and Stacy Guzy both pitched complete games. Payton Watson had a double and two singles in the opener while Kendall Galloway tripled in the second game.
The Coldwater JV Girls Softball team also won both games of their doubleheader at Hanover-Horton by scores of 8-2 and 8-5. They are also 4-0.
Tyler Scheid was winning pitcher in both games. Jordan Clemens drove in two runs in the opener while Mallory Kissinger had a double. Cheyenne Akers and Carly Duke both had two singles in the nightcap.
Today’s sports schedule includes Coldwater hosting Comstock for our first baseball broadcast, with live coverage of the doubleheader in progress following the Evening Journal at 5:30PM.
Also, in varsity doubleheader baseball and softball action, Quincy is at Springport and Union City hosts Concord
In varsity boys golf, Coldwater hosts Lansing Waverly and Bronson travels to Battle Creek St. Philip.
In varsity girls tennis, Coldwater hosts Adrian and Bronson hosts Battle Creek St. Philip.
Today’s JV baseball schedule has Coldwater traveling to Comstock, Quincy hosting Springport for a doubleheader and Union City traveling to Concord for two. In JV softball, Union City will also travel to Concord for a doubleheader. And in JV girls tennis, Coldwater travels to Adrian.
