STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – The City of Sturgis is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the successful prosecution of the persons responsible for over $50,000 worth of damage done to Oaklawn Cemetery over the weekend.
Sturgis Police say a majority of headstones damaged were historical dating back as far as the 1800’s.
They say the vandals destroyed over 30 head stones and grave markers sometime between Friday and Sunday.
The subjects also broke into and vandalized a small building on the cemetery property.
