COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The owner of a home at 100 East Pierce in Coldwater was transported by Lifecare Ambulance to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital with unknown injuries Tuesday morning when a fire broke out in a second story bathroom.
The Coldwater Fire Department along with automatic aid from Quincy Fire Department were called out at 6:54 a.m.
Coldwater Fire Marshall Steve Trall says crews found smoke and flames coming from a second story window on the south side of the home.
The fire was put out within 15 minutes and contained to the second story bathroom of the home. The home also suffered smoke damage throughout the second story.
The Coldwater Police Department, Coldwater Board of Public Utilities, and Michigan Gas also assisted on scene.
The home is estimated to have $25,000 in damages and an additional $1,500 in contents loss.
The fire still remains under investigation. Fire crews remained on scene until just before 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
