COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school wrestling on Saturday, Coldwater won the Three Rivers Super Duals. The Cardinals finished first with a 4-0 record on the day, defeating Hamilton 52-24, Lawton 47-31 and Hart 40-28 in pool play before beating Constantine 45-30 in the championship final.
Undefeated on the day for Coldwater were Faheem Abdullah, Daniel Pino, and Sam DeMeester while going 3-1 were Ezra Lewis and Jesse Miller. The Cardinals next wrestle on Wednesday at home in an Interstate Eight Quad.
Also on Saturday, Bronson took fifth place out of 9 teams at the Goshen Invitational. Winning their weight divisions for the Vikings were David Erwin and Chase Gibson while bringing home third place medals were Tommy Littlefield, Gavin Alger, Nathan Caudill, and Joey Losinski. Bronson returns to action on Wednesday in a BCS Quad at Mendon.
In junior varsity wrestling, at last Friday’s tournament at Coldwater, earning first place medals for Bronson were Randy Thyng and Alex Arias.
Tonight in high school sports, in Girls basketball, in a Branch County matchup, it’s Bronson at Quincy while Union City has a home game against Centreville.
