COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Theresa Gillette was recently named the Community Health Center of Branch County (CHC) November Employee of the Month. She has been an employee of CHC since May of 1998. Theresa is currently the program manager of the CHC School Telehealth Clinics. In the past she has worked in the surgical department and on the pediatric unit. Tele-health Program. She is a key part of the program and cares for the children of Branch County.
Theresa is passionate about her job and takes pride in her work. According to her nominator, “When the CHC School Tele-health Program started, Theresa took a leap of faith in the program and its managers because she believed in the cause. Since that time, she has poured her heart into the program. While this seems like it is part of her job description, Theresa has taken on many challenges that are not in her job description or part of her history as being a nurse. She has become a public speaker, traveling across the state to help other people launch their programs and to report on our program to the State of Michigan. She has hosted tours of the program and explained to visitors how they might be able to implement the program. She has hosted donors and become part of the sustainability process by sharing her passion. Theresa has been in videos promoting the program and recently, Theresa participated in the Gala – lending us her voice to play overhead. This is not easy! Most people would have turned up their nose, but Theresa never questioned the request. Theresa’s personality and willingness to consider any tasks has helped to leverage funds – both locally and at the state level. “
Theresa has helped to grow the School Tele-health Program which added Quincy Clinic in the 2014-15 school year. She is an essential piece to the communication that occurs between the clinics and the Pediatric and Adolescent Center. She has been a leader for her team and has dedicated her life to improving the health of students in Branch County.
Theresa lives with her husband, Heath, and twin boys, Steel and Sebastian, in Quincy, Michigan. In her free time she enjoys traveling, watching Steelers games, and boating on Marble Lake. She is an active member of the United Methodist Church and volunteers for the school athletic program.
