Dustin Allan Himes, 49, of Bronson, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Dustin was born November 29, 1973 in Sturgis, MI. to Rick and Patricia (Roberts) Himes. On June 30, 2017, he married Nancy Binkley and she survives. Dustin led a varied career all centered around his skills in maintenance and mechanical talents until his health no longer permitted him to do so. He thoroughly enjoyed his many tinkering projects from piece-by-piece breakdown to reassembly and finish. Dustin had a passion for making people happy and celebrating Halloween, it was his favorite time of year. Together Dustin and Nancy would host the annual “Hardcore Halloween Bash” where countless good times were had and so many memories were made. This year’s “Hardcore Halloween Bash” will be held in memory of Dustin. Whether it was social gatherings or simply sharing a good “dad joke” from the Dad Code Group he was a member of, Dustin could always be counted on for a smile. His love for his family and friends was second to none and he will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to his wife Nancy, Dustin leaves behind his parents Rick Himes of Sturgis and Patricia Roberts of Bronson; his children Dustin Himes Jr. of Bronson, Gillian Himes of Ohio, Tyler Binkley of Burr Oak, Rain Hayes of Bronson; his siblings Derek Himes of Sturgis, Cory Gould of Wolcottville, IN, Joshua Himes of Kalamazoo, Taylor Himes of Coldwater, Jordan Himes of Sturgis; his grandchild Dustin Himes III of Bronson; his grandmother Phyllis VanAken of Colon; his uncles Henry Grove of Bronson, Timothy Himes of Galesburg, MI and his many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bessie Grove, Ned Himes; his aunts Barabara Kelly, Rosemary Arlt, Diana Rose and his uncle Larry Himes.
