BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – There were no contested races for any of the county offices on Tuesday but there were several city and township races around Branch County that had to be decided by voters.
Chad Johnson edged William Goodman Junior 420-406 to win a partial term for a Second Ward seat on the Coldwater City Council which expires in November of 2023.
William Rinehart, Larry McConn and Rick Johannes were elected to four year terms on the Bronson City Council.
Winning four year terms on the Quincy Village Council were Michael Hagaman, Christy Berry and Marc Brand.
Kathryn Frederick won a partial term on the Coldwater School Board which expires in December of 2024.
Tyson Franks, Bob Cary and Mike Roberts were elected to six year terms on the Bronson School Board as they were the top three finishers out of a crowded field of seven candidates. Roberts edged Chad Everett by 60 votes for the final seat on the board.
Brian Preston, Tim Miller and Erin Veysey were elected to six year terms on the Quincy School Board.
Voters in the Quincy School District passed an operating millage proposal of one mill for five years by a vote of 1,498 to 1,303.
Russell Jennings was re-elected as Algansee Township Supervisor as he defeated Sharon Atkinson 624-234.
James Webb won the Bethal Township Treasurer’s race while Jerry Haylett and Rod Hathaway while elected as Bethal Township Trustees.
Winning election as township trustees were Mary Daniels and Ted Short in Coldwater Township along with Richard Chard and Aaron Miller in Gilead Township.
Aaron Robbins was elected as Sherwood Township Supervisor as he defeated incumbent James Smith who was running as a write in candidate after losing to Robbins in the August Republican Primary.
In Union Township, Bobbi Snyder and Bryan Washburn were elected as trustees while Tara Powell won the treasurer’s race.
