STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – If you are planning to travel south of Branch County Saturday night or Sunday morning, be prepared for a Indiana Department of Transportation rolling slowdown on I-69 as Northern Indiana Public Service Company crews perform utility line work.
INDOT says the rolling slowdown along a ten mile stretch of the interstate is scheduled to take place between 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. Work is taking place at approximately the 349 mile marker which is just north of the U.S. 20 exit.
Traffic will be slowed to about 10 mph starting just south of the Michigan-Indiana border at the southbound 354 mile marker and northbound at the 344 mile marker.
Officials say the rolling slowdown should take no longer than 20 minutes. If more than one rolling slowdown is needed, there will be a 20-minute gap between each one.
INDOT encourages drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
