BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Three Branch County volleyball teams will be playing for MHSAA District championships over the next couple of days following District Semifinal wins on Wednesday.
Coldwater opened play in the Division 1 Harper Creek District with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-22) win against Battle Creek Central.

- Emma Porter: 1 ace, 5 digs
The Cardinals improved to 30-15-3 and will face Interstate 8 champion Harper Creek Friday night at 6 p.m. for the District championship. Coverage on WTVB will begin Friday afternoon at 5:45 p.m. The Beavers advanced by eliminating cross-city rival Lakeview 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-13).

In the Division 3 District hosted by Union City at the McNett Fieldhouse, Bronson defeated the host Chargers 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-23) to advance to the District Final Thursday at 6 p.m.

Next up for the Vikings: the Centerville Bulldogs, who outlasted Constantine 3-2 (25-11, 26-24, 20-25, 20-25, 18-16) in the other semifinal match.
At the Division 3 Jonesville District, Quincy knocked off the host Comets 3-1 (15-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-22) and will face Addison Thursday at 6 p.m. for the District championship after the Panthers eliminated Hillsdale 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21).
