COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two Indiana residents were formally arraigned in Branch County District Court Monday after a weekend traffic stop by the Michigan State Police led to their arrests on multiple charges.
18-year-old Adrian Christopher Crabb of Leesburg is facing six charges including two counts of concealing and receiving stolen property.
He is also facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon, resisting and obstructing, possession of burglary tools and possession of meth. His bond was set at $200,000.
The driver of the vehicle that was stopped for speeding on I-69 near Dorrance Road at about 3:00 a.m. last Saturday, 19-year-old Kaleb Perry of Syracuse, was charged with possession of burglary tools, motor vehicle theft and smuggling contraband into the jail. His bond was set at $75,000.
Both are scheduled to appear for probable cause hearings November 7 with preliminary exams November 14, 2017.
Troopers say the odor of marijuana led to the discovery of a meth pipe. They also say Crabb struggled with a trooper before he was arrested. They also seized two handguns that were said to be stolen and the vehicle was allegedly taken without the permission of the owner.
