COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council unanimously approved two property sales agreements on Monday night.
One was for a lot at 124 Marshall to adjacent property owner Steven Rutz for $1,600, the other was a lot on 136 South Clay to Branch County Habitat for Humanity for $500.
City Manager Keith Baker says Habitat is hoping to build a home on Charles Street next spring. They have owned that property for a couple of year. Habitat is currently working on a project in Quincy.
The new purchase agreements effectively negates an earlier agreement to sell the Marshall Street property to Habitat for $1,000 that was approved last month and was set to come off the table for final approval.
The new sales agreements now sit on the table for 30 days under conditions set forth by the City Charter. During that time, competing counter-offers for either property could be received.
