COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A former employee of the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the utility, the City of Coldwater and CBPU Director Paul Jakubczak.
According to the web site pacermonitor.com, Jodi Beckhusen filed the employment discrimination complaint which demands a jury trial on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court in West Michigan.
Beckhusen, who was the Customer Service Manager for the utility, is being represented by Northville attorneys Jennifer Salvatore and Annamarie Smith-Morris.
The CBPU Board of Directors held an executive session on November 2, 2022 that lasted for almost an hour and 20 minutes concerning what was called a work place complaint. The closed session was not on the original agenda but was requested by Jakubczak.
Board President Chris Stevens made the announcement at the start of the meeting.
After coming out of the closed session, Board member Scott Ohm made a motion which was seconded by Travis Machan that the matter be brought to a close.
The exact nature of the complaint was not revealed at the time. Summons were delivered to the defendants named in the suit on Thursday and the case was assigned to Judge Paul Maloney.

Have Beckhusens cost this city enough yet or are they still prominent people and great friend of the city dictators?
