COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners decided on Tuesday afternoon to move forward with a County building renovation plan that will be paid for with $3 million worth of ARPA funds.
County Administrator Bud Norman, who wants to get the work started as soon as possible, pointed out during last Thursday’s work session that the least costly option was to use a General Contractor for the large projects with the County’s Maintenance Department overseeing the smaller projects.
Following a discussion on what the priorities should be, Commissioners approved a suggestion to start with courtroom renovations. Norman said last Thursday they discussed the renovations with court employees.
In addition to the courthouse renovations, there would be work on bathrooms as well as painting and window caulking.
