BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Schools throughout Branch County shut down again on Tuesday due to another day of frigid cold temperatures.
After a day off for the Martin Luther King, Junior holiday, school officials decided Monday night to call off classes for the third time since the end of the Christmas break.
A wind chill advisory is in place until late Wednesday morning for Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Cass, St, Joseph, Branch, and Berrien counties with wind chill readings between 15 and 30-degrees below zero.
The National Weather Service says temperatures will hover around zero Tuesday and Tuesday night before warming into the upper teens on Wednesday. Temperatures are not expected to get near the freezing mark until early next week.



Boy how coddled our kids have become. In the 60’s and 70’s we prayed for snow days to no avail. It made us tougher and more tolerant to the weather.
