VICKSBURG, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater came close to earning a sweep of their games at Vicksburg Tuesday night.
The Cardinal boys almost came all the way back from a 15-point deficit, outscoring the Bulldogs 22-9 in the fourth quarter, but a Niko Downs jumper at the buzzer fell short as Vicksburg earned the one-point victory, 62-61.
Jackson Reilly led Coldwater with 14 points, while Zach Coffing scored all 12 of his points in the final stanza. Gavin Taylor had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, and Tyson Roby added 11. The Cardinals dropped to 5-12 on the season.

Earlier, the Lady Cardinals used an 11-3 fourth quarter to finish off Vicksburg 47-31 and hand the Bulldogs just their second loss of the season.
Elli Foley had a game-high 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals, while Coley Burkhardt came off the bench to contribute 10 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, and 3 blocks. Mya Porter added 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists as Coldwater improved to 13-2.
Both Cardinal varsity teams will host Marshall Friday on Hall of Fame Night.

Coldwater won the JV girls game played at Vicksburg 27-22; Marie Powers led all scorers with 14 points. Vicksburg won the freshman girls game at Coldwater Monday night 48-20; TK Boyd had a team-high 6 points.
