COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After the Michigan Legislature approved two pieces of legislation in November concerning the state’s energy future, the Coldwater B.P.U. Board of Directors approved a Professional Services Agreement with nFront Consulting LLC of Orlando, Florida on Wednesday night.
B.P.U. Director Paul Jakubczak says PA 235 and PA 229 include standards and requirements for renewables, clean energy, carbon reductions and energy waste reduction goals.
He said they will use what is being called an Integrated Resource Plan.
According to Jakubczak, nFront Consulting LLC has done work in Michigan and with Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO).
The open ended agreement says either party have the right to terminate for convenience. In addition, nFront will bill the CBPU as they utilize their services.
Jakubczak estimated the Integrated Resource Plan will cost just over $100,000.
The agreement was approved pending final legal review.
