JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school volleyball, Coldwater stayed undfeated and in first place in the Interstate 8 Conference with a 3-0 win at Jackson Northwest 0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-12).
Malorie Rzepka led in kills with 9, Tyler Scheid led in blocks with 5 and added 4 kills, Jasmine Wellet led in aces with 3 as well as in digs with 13, Jamie Wellet led in assists with 15 and had 8 digs, Ellory Farmer had 8 digs, and Drue Mullin had 6 digs
Coldwater’s record is now 30-3-3. Their Interstate 8 Conference record is 4-0. The Cardinals play again on Saturday at a tournament at Schoolcraft College in Brighton.
The Coldwater J.V. squad lost to Jackson Northwest 2-1 (25-17, 19-25, 13-15)
Coldwater’s freshman team defeated Jackson Northwest 2-1 (25-23, 20-25, 23-21) as their record improved to 22-5-2. Amber Sunderland had eight digs, Victoria Gonzalez had seven assists and three digs while Madison Beckhusen had five digs and three aces.
Former Coldwater and Bronson players will meet next Tuesday night at Coldwater High School in the second annual alumni volleyball game which will start at 6:00 p.m.
All of the proceeds will go towards the Coldwater Volleyball Team’s fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and the Branch County Cancer Center. The cost to get into the game is by donation.
