Tomey Andrew Monroe, age 73, of Quincy passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care and Rehabilitation Center in Coldwater.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be announced for the summer of 2024.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born November 5, 1950, in Jackson, Michigan to Leland and Donnabell (Hurford) Monroe.
Tomey graduated from Vandercook Lake High School. He worked in the maintenance department at the former Carriage Inn in Coldwater. Later he owned and operated his own lawn care business, Monroe Lawn Care in Jonesville.
Tomey enjoyed playing cards, and in his younger years he loved fishing any chance he could.
Survivors include one son, William Monroe; brothers, Rex (DeeAnn) Monroe; step sister, Myerl DeForest; former wife, Melanie Bailey; nieces and nephews, Chris (Elizabeth) Monroe, Amber Monroe, Emmett Monroe II, Donna Moore and James Cox; several great-nieces and nephews also survive; and special friends, Mike and Geneva Strobel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Flossie Cox; brother, Emmett Monroe; former wife Sue May; and step father, John DeForest.
