COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The groundhog may have been right about an early spring.
After Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow on February second, the weather for the most part has been unseasonable mild.
Some Coldwater residents have taken advantage of the weather to clean up their yards but the City is not scheduled to start weekly yard waste collection until Monday, April 1.
City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for the Monday’s City Council meeting that if the weather continues to improve through early March, they may begin weekly yard waste collection early.
Residents are asked to put yard waste including leaves in paper bags for curb side pick-up.
Spring brush pick-up will also begin on April 1 and May 1. There will be
no scheduled brush pick up in June, July, August or September.
Those wishing to dispose of their yard waste can drop it off at the City’s Municipal Services Department located at 45 Industrial Avenue.
