RICHLAND, MI (WTVB) – In high school volleyball, Bronson lost three matches by 2-1 scores to Class A schools in a meet at Gull Lake. They were beaten by Mattawan 25-21, 15-25, 4-15; Gull Lake 23-25, 25-14, 12-15 and Hudsonville 19-25, 25-20 and 11-15.
Keona Salesman led with 32 kills and 20 digs. Kiana Mayer had 70 assists, 18 digs and 11 kills. Adyson Lasky recorded 13 kills and 25 digs, Ashton Wronikowski had 18 kills, Jolie Smoker had 10 kills, Kiera Lasky had 43 digs and Paris Outwater recorded 24 digs.
Quincy 3, Homer 2 (25-19, 15-25, 25-13, 24-26, 15-10).
It was a milestone night for Quincy’s Cailyn Cook as she recorded career dig number 1,000.

The Legg Middle School 8th grade A team defeated Harper Creek 2-0 (25-22 25-10). Leading the team was Allison Miller with 13 points, 10 aces and 4 assists; Leah Goodwin had 6 points and 3 aces; Alyssa Wilson 5 points; Brooke Moore 5 points and 2 kills; Mallory Wilber 3 kills; Jayla Foster 5 points. The team will travel to Marshall on Thursday.
The 8th grade B volleyball team won last night at home vs Harper Creek 25-11, 25-14. Hannah Robison had 5 aces, Bethany Pavlov added 4 aces, 3 kills and 1 assist. Ashley Drezwicki had 5 aces, 1 kill.
The Legg Middle School 7th grade A team lost to Harper Creek.
The Legg Middle School 7th grade B team defeated Harper Creek 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 15-8). The team was led by Roselyn Ramos who had 11 aces and served for 15 points and Destiny Hart who had 3 aces and served for 8 points. Paige Larsen also added 1 kill for the Lady Cards. The girls will face the Marshall Redhawks on Thursday at 4:30 at Marshall.
In cross country, Quincy’s girls and Jonesville’s boys finished first Tuesday at the second Big Eight Conference Jamboree of the season, which was hosted by Homer.
Quincy won the girls race with 57 points followed by Concord with 87 and Springport with 89. Bronson finished seventh while Union City was eighth. Four Quincy runners finished in the top 15 led by Harmony Harpster who was sixth. Madelyn Allman was ninth, Meri Michael was 11th and Avery Rufenacht was 15th.
Bronson’s Xochitl Garcia finished sixth while Marionna Bigelow of Union City was 28th.
Bronson was third in the boys race while Quincy was fifth and Union City was seventh. Quincy’s Nathan Nohr was second. Bronson had four runners in the top 12. Luis Ortiz was eighth while Colin Ransbottom, Daniel Barajas and Hunter Trine finished tenth through twelth.
Union City’s Bobby Hurley was 20th.
