COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved a request on Tuesday from the Veterans Affairs office to buy a handicap accessible van.
Charles Scott from the Veterans Affairs office said during the Commissioners work session on March 21 he has received a grant from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency to purchase the van which will be used to transport veterans to and from VA appointments on a daily basis.
Scott would like to purchase a converted 2023 Chevy Traverse at a cost of just over $61,000.
The office has already received $50,000 from the grant and will pay the difference from the Veterans Relief fund.
