COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school football, the Coldwater Cardinals will be trying to defeat Pennfield for a fourth straight year Friday evening as they’ll host the Panthers at Cardinal Field.
Coldwater is 2-0 and have outscored the opposition so far 55-7. Pennfield is 0-2 following losses to Williamston and Parma Western. Coldwater has outscored the Panthers 87-20 over the last three years.
Kickoff tonight is 7:00 p.m., with live coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB starting at 6:30 p.m.

Bronson (0-2, 0-1 Big 8) at Quincy (2-0, 1-0 Big 8)
Quincy will try to beat Branch County rival Bronson for a sixth straight season on the Orioles home field Friday night. The 2-0 Orioles have only allowed eight points in their first two games. Quincy has beaten Parchment 12-0 and Jonesville 22-8.
The Vikings have been dealing with low numbers and injuries in their losses to Athens and Union City. This is the first time since 1979 Bronson and Quincy have not played each other in the opening game of the season.

Dalton Messenger scored four touchdowns for the Orioles. Chandler Locke and Matt Hagaman scored the other Quincy TD’s. Kenye Radford threw a 71 yard TD pass for Bronson.
Springport (1-1, 0-1 Big 8) at Union City (2-0, 1-0 Big 8)
Union City will host defending Big 8 Conference champion Springport at Alumni Field. The Chargers have beaten Galesburg-Augusta and Bronson. The Spartans lost to Reading 34-7 last week after beating Vandercook Lake 42-7 in the opening game of the season. Springport won last years game 48-26 but Union City has beaten the Spartans 35 times in the 44 meetings since 1973.
At halftime Union City will be honoring the 1972 wrestling team, the 1983 baseball team and the girls basketball teams from 1984, ’85 and ’86 on “Teams of Fame” night.
