LANSING, MI (WTVB) – A pair of Branch County fire department officials were among those recognized yesterday at the State Capitol.
58th District Representative Eric Leutheuser of Hillsdale invited first responder Bronson Deputy Fire Chief Ken Stutzman and retired Bronson Fire Chief Brent Wilber as his guests Thursday at the Michigan House of Representatives’ annual September 11th Memorial Service at the Capitol. The ceremony honors first responders and members of the military from Michigan who died in the line of duty in the past year.
Leutheuser said it was a very meaningful day, remembering those who served before while also using the event to encourage other people to follow in the footsteps of those like Stutzman and Wilber. This summer, Stutzman began his 51st year as a member of the Bronson Fire Department.
There was a luncheon yesterday in Lansing hosted by the legislature for all those who attended the ceremonies at the State Capitol.
