COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Coalition against Domestic Violence has announced it had great success last weekend with one of the Coalition’s major annual fundraisers. The event held Saturday was the Sue Nagle Help From Above Golf Ball Drop at the Coldwater Golf Course.
BCCADV Executive Director Kim Hemker says the full afternoon of fun filled activities including the balls being dropped onto a putting green from a tethered hot air balloon brought in a net $14,000 to the Coalition.
Tickets to enter the contest were sold at $10.00 per golf ball and there were also more than a dozen raffle prizes. All of the money raised stays in Branch County to increase awareness and prevention of domestic violence and to fund the many related programs of the Coalition.
The number one fundraiser for the BCCADV is the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event held each year in April.
The top prizes at last Saturday’s Golf Ball drop went to Michelle Streets, winning $1,000 for closest to the pin, Curt Macrae, $500 for second closest to the pin, and Theresa Wells, $250 for furthest from the hole.
