COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There’s a job opportunity for high school teenagers in Branch County thanks to the county’s Commission on Aging. COA Executive Director Amy Duff outlined what’s available for teens now and during the school year when she spoke at Tuesday’s meeting of the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club.
Duff said the so-called Chore program is designed for senior citizens who could use help with some of their bigger once or twice a year chores at their homes such as window washing or the leaf raking that will be coming up this fall. She said it’s a good chance for young people in the community to get some work experience and they are paid for what they do and also allows them to work around their school schedules and athletic schedules. Duff said the COA received a larger than usual grant from the state of Michigan for the Chore program.
Teens interested in the work can fill out an application at the Burnside Center on Grahl Drive off North Michigan Avenue in Coldwater.
