COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -The suspect in an I-69 road rage incident this past weekend was released from the Branch County Jail last night following her arraignment Monday in District Court. The incident on I-69 just south of the Branch-Calhoun County line on Saturday night led to the arrest the woman after the Michigan State Police say she pointed a handgun at four occupants of another vehicle.
Troopers say two vehicles were traveling north on the highway and passed each other several times. State Police said 50-year old Tina Miracle from Kentucky was driving a red Pontiac Grand Am and became angry enough to point a handgun at the other vehicle to try and scare them. Troopers said she was in legal possession of the weapon. No shots were fired.
Deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department stopped the Grand Am at I-69 and Michigan Avenue in Marshall Township. Miracle’s .38 caliber pistol was recovered from the vehicle.
Miracle was charged yesterday with 4 counts of felonious assault with a dangerous weapon and 2 counts of felony firearm. She was released from custody after posting bail with a $25,000 cash or surety bond set by the court.
Miracle has a probable cause hearing scheduled for August 1 with her preliminary exam set for August 8, 2017.
